Privacy Policy
Name 100 Women is designed to run without accounts and with only the data needed to play and rank completed runs.
No Accounts
You do not need to create an account, provide a password, or sign in to play Name 100 Women.
Local Game Data
The game may use your browser's localStorage to remember your best score on this device. This data stays in your browser unless you clear site data or use browser tools to remove it.
Leaderboard Submissions
If you submit a completed run to the leaderboard, the site stores the nickname you entered, your finish time, a short-lived session identifier used for anti-fraud, and a hashed IP value used for basic abuse prevention and score integrity. When you submit, the list of answers from your run is sent to the server so the score can be verified; those answers are used only for verification and are not stored. The public leaderboard displays nicknames and times only.
Wikidata Requests
To check whether a typed answer refers to a real notable woman, the game makes Wikidata API calls from your browser as you play, and the server makes additional Wikidata calls to verify a run when you submit it to the leaderboard. Those requests are handled by Wikidata according to its own policies.
Analytics & Cookies
This site uses two analytics services to understand aggregate, anonymised usage such as page views, approximate region, and device type:
- Google Analytics (gtag.js), which sets cookies and may receive your IP address. This data is processed by Google under its own privacy policy; the site does not use it to build an identifying profile of you.
- Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-first measurement tool that does not use cookies and does not fingerprint visitors.
Aside from the Google Analytics cookies described above, the site does not set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. You can block either service with your browser settings or an extension without affecting gameplay.
